Teaching Process
Step 1 Warming-up
Activity 1. Review with students the difference between predicates and non-predicates in sentences by using analogies.
Activity 2. Display the original sentence in the text and ask students to determine the grammatical function of the underlined word, with past participles serving as attributives and object complements.
设计意图:通过介绍谓语与非谓语的区别进行旧的知识的回顾,然后引出本节课的重点结构,过去分词做定语和宾语补足语,为后续的学习活动准备铺垫。
Step 2 Observing
Activity 1.Display images and words, allowing learners to observe and summarize the characteristics of past participles used as attributives.
归纳1:单个过去分词作定语放于其修饰的名词之____。
归纳2:过去分词短语作定语时,一般置于其修饰的名词之____,其作用相当于一个_________。
Activity 2: Have students compare the differences between the present participle (doing) and the past participle (done) when used as adjectives.
1. 语态不同
The woman standing beside him is his daughter.
She showed me the book recommended by the professor.
2. 时间不同
the boiling water\ the boiled water
设计意图:引导学生通过观察、对比语言特点,在归类的基础上分析过去分词作定语的特点。 Step 3 Practice
Fill in the blanks with the correct form of the words in the bracket.
设计意图:Step 2和Step 3围绕过去分词作定语,通过分析——讲解——练习环节,培养学生运用语言的能力。
Step 4 Observing
Study the following examples: Past participle as the object complement.
1. I’ll have my hair cut tomorrow.
2. He got his foot injured while playing football.
3. I heard the song sung in English.
归纳1:宾语补足语一般放在宾语_________, 对宾语起____________的作用。
归纳2: 感官动词(短语)see、 watch、 observe、 look at、 hear、 listen to、 find、 feel、 notice等接过去分词(短语)作宾语补足语时,表示“看到/听到/发现/感觉到/注意到某物或某人被……”。
归纳3:使役动词have、 make、 get、 keep、 leave等接过去分词(短语)作宾语补足语时,表示“致使某物或某人被……”。
归纳4:介词with后也可接过去分词作宾语补足语,构成with复合结构。
